About

The Reverend Brandon Harris serves as the 10th Settled Senior Minister of the Peoples Congregational Church, UCC in Washington D.C. Born in Detroit, Michigan and raised in Rochester, New York. Rev. Harris attended The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Religion. He is a graduate of Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia where he earned a Master of Divinity with certificates in Black Church Studies and Baptist Studies. While at Candler, Rev. Harris was a Robert W. Woodruff Fellow in Theology and Ministry and earned the Frederick Buechner Preaching Award and the Charles Owen Smith Jr award for exceptional promise of service in Baptist ministry.

Rev. Harris was Licensed and Ordained at the Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA. He served for two and a half years as Protestant Chaplain, Law Center and Main Campus at Georgetown University. He then served as the Protestant Chaplain to the Main Campus at Georgetown University.

Committed to ecumenical and interfaith dialogue, he was a Fellow of the Campus Chaplaincy for a Multifaith World sponsored by the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College and a State of Formation Fellow of Hebrew College and Boston University. He has also served as Board Chair of the Alumni Association of the Institute for Responsible Citizenship and is a member of the Candler School of Theology at Emory University Alumni Board.
