Charles Tighe holds degrees from Kenyon College, the University of Colorado – Boulder, and Boston University and received his Orff training at the University of Memphis, University of Nevada – Las Vegas, and the Orff Institute at the Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg.
He has directed children’s choirs at Peachtree Christian Church in Atlanta, St. Peter and Paul Episcopal Church in Marietta, and St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church in Atlanta where he teaches using the RSCM Curriculum. For thirty years, Mr. Tighe was an elementary music specialist in the Cobb County Schools (Marietta, GA) and Roane County Schools (Kingston, TN). Mr. Tighe’s children’s choirs have been featured at the National Convention of the American Orff Schulwerk Association and the Georgia Music Educators Association.
He has presented Orff and choral workshops throughout the United States and internationally in India, Singapore, and Canada.
