About the Event
The National Competition in Organ Improvisation (NCOI) seeks to further the art of improvisation by recognizing and rewarding superior performance in the field. A flourishing tradition of improvisation is fundamental to a truly vital musical culture.
Location: First Presbyterian Church
The American Guild of Organists promotes the highest level of organ performance through its National Young Artists Competition in Organ Performance. The Competition is intended to serve as a springboard for emerging organists to develop their performance ability by participating in the various demanding stages of this Competition. Underwriting of expenses is provided in part by the Nita Akin Competition Fund.
Note: Buses will cycle hourly to and from the Hyatt Regency beginning at 8:30am. The last bus will leave First Presbyterian Church at 5:00pm or when the event is finished (if before 5:00pm).
